About Me

If you are like most of my readers, you are a disciple of Christ. You are successful in your career, you feel called to contribute to the world through your God given gifts and abilities as a leader. However, you know that you are also called to make disciples for Jesus and you wonder how you can balance both calls.

My Name is Ade Sobanjo and I have felt what you feel and I believe I am sent by God to you to help you continue to make impact in the world as a leader in the secular world and be very effective as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

I have a MEng in Electrical Engineering and I was doing quite well as the CEO of a start-up in 2005 when we were called to plant our first church in Montreal, Canada. It was such a joy serving my clients and raising disciples for Jesus at the same time, but it became quite difficult to combine both. Eventually, I closed the business and gave some part of it to a friend. And I focused on the church with my lovely wife Olu.

After planting 4 churches and moving to Nigeria, I had a stroke in 2017. I am grateful to God that have recovered very well but I am even more grateful that I have become a new man. After the stroke, I realized that I was not only called to pastor, but I was called to encourage every believer to recognize and maximize their call to make disciples for Jesus.

I do not know exactly how it happened but I suddenly began to see that 90% of the members of our church family were quite successful at their careers and they were also quite involved in the church activities. However, many of them were not able to balance these two calls properly. I began to remember how many times I have had to answer this question "How do you balance your career with all the church activities and family."

What made these wonderful and devoted children of God to feel stressed is not that we compelled them to attend so many meetings. It was that they did not feel as successful as disciples of Jesus as the felt as workers in the secular world. I did not recognize this until after the stroke. I had been teaching and living this life of satisfaction in Christ, without focussing on this specific pain. This is how the BiVo Podcast was born and this is why you are reading this page right now.

Every believer can be very successful as a leader in the market place and be a successful disciple of Jesus if only you would choose to design your life according to a divine plan that I would be happy to show you.

I am grateful to God for my lovely wife Olu and two boys. It's been an interesting ride and we have been following the divine plan of God for our lives. Join us.
