Be Kingdom Focused – Day 4/38

Bible Reading1 Kings 1 & 2; Matthew 6 – I have read Matt 6 so many times and each time I am amazed at how rich the chapter is. One lesson I would like to share however is that being Kingdom focused will really help to simplify your life and make you much more fulfilled and fruitful. I remember when I first decided to always make my decisions based on how it would further the Kingdom of God and my ministry; it made it much easier to say “no” to temptations, “yes” to opportunities for growth and “no” to various forms of distractions.  You can try it also. Make up your mind that your highest priority is the “establishment” of God’s Kingdom and watch how your decision making will become much easier. That doesn’t mean it will be easy to do what you have to do, but it will be easier to know what you need to do.

Daily Activities – I spent most of the day indoors. I usually begin the preparation for my Sunday sermons on Wednesday so I was in the church most of the day, praying, studying, writing and doing all my other duties such as, responding to emails, writing emails, returning calls and at the end of the day I had a great time hearing the men in our Life Group share their favorite passages in the Bible.

Books I am Reading – I am that kind of a reader that has 3 or more books going at the same time. Right now I am reading to books that I got from a pastor friend of ours that is moving to another town. I first read Power from on High by Charles G. Finney in my early day of university (1992/3) and it really rocked my boat. I have read it a few times after that and it continues to be a great blessing. Whenever I read through the book, I am encouraged to trust God for revival in the church. My copy of Power from on High had become old and haggard and lost so I was so grateful to get a fresh copy from my pastor friend. The other book Meat for Men is a compilation of sermons by Leonard Ravenhill. I have read some of his books and I am finding this one quite interesting too. If you want revival, you will may want to read these books.

Cost of daily blogging – Since I started blogging on this site daily, I have not been able to do much with my passive income project because usually I have only 1hr to spend on blogging. I hope to do at least one blog post for that site by the end of this week.

Prayer – Dear Lord, continue to make me aware of your presence with me always and help me to be a Kingdom focused believer.
