Bible Verses (scriptures) about wisdom

Here are some ancient words of wisdom from scriptures!

Wisdom is with aged men, And with length of days, understanding. (Job 12:12 NKJ)

With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding (Job 12:13 NKJ)

Oh, that you would be silent, And it would be your wisdom! (Job 13:5 NKJ)

“But where can wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
Man does not know its value,
Nor is it found in the land of the living.
The deep says,`It is not in me’;
And the sea says,`It is not with me.’
It cannot be purchased for gold,
Nor can silver be weighed for its price.
It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir,
In precious onyx or sapphire.
Neither gold nor crystal can equal it,
Nor can it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold.
No mention shall be made of coral or quartz,
For the price of wisdom is above rubies.
The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it,
Nor can it be valued in pure gold.
“From where then does wisdom come?
And where is the place of understanding?
It is hidden from the eyes of all living,
And concealed from the birds of the air.
Destruction and Death say,
`We have heard a report about it with our ears.’
God understands its way, And He knows its place.
For He looks to the ends of the earth,
And sees under the whole heavens,
To establish a weight for the wind,
And apportion the waters by measure.
When He made a law for the rain,
And a path for the thunderbolt,
Then He saw wisdom and declared it;
He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out.
And to man He said,`Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
And to depart from evil is understanding.'”
(Job 28:12-28 NKJ)

I said,`Age should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.’
But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand justice.
(Job 32:7-9 NKJ)

The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice (Psa 37:30 NKJ)

My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding. (Psa 49:3 NKJ)

Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. (Psa 51:6-7 NKJ)

So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psa 90:12 NKJ)

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. (Psa 111:10-1 NKJ)

To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, For His mercy endures forever; (Psa 136:5 NKJ)
