God wanted to make known to them the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Col 1:27 [NET]
Do you realize that Jesus Christ is in you by his Holy Spirit? God is in you! There is nothing to be afraid of or worried about. You don’t need to worry about being alone, or being a failure. You can know that as long as you allow the Holy Spirit to work, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!
There was a time when I really struggled to be like Jesus? I thought that I had to try really hard to be like Jesus. To love like Jesus, live like Jesus, Pray like Jesus! At that time I also believed it was impossible to live and love like Jesus but that I had to try my best. I don’t need to tell you how frustrated I was in those days. I would do okay for a few days and then I would mess up! Each time I failed (lied, got angry, failed to read my bible, the list is unending), I would be disappointed in myself and I would think I had to start all over again. This continued until I read today’s verse along with other portions of scriptures.
I realized that it was not my efforts that made the difference but the working of Christ in me. My failure was not because I was not a trying enough, it was because I was not allowing Christ to work in me. It was my struggle to do God’s work that was making me to fail. From that day I have focused more on hearing from God and following him, than running from sin and doing right. The beauty of this is that the more I focused on allowing Christ to work in me by communing regularly with Christ, the more I have experienced victory over sin.
Christ is in you! You have hope for Glory! It’s such a blessing to know that Christ is living through you!
Oh my Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you for living in me! I trust that you will make me all that you want me to be. Teach me dear lord to always recognize your promptings and to always be aware of your presence in me. I rejoice in the truth that I can rest and allow you to lead me to your Glory! Thanks you Lord!
