Today it was harder than usual to complete my 10k steps since we generally have a slower day on Saturday. Nevertheless, I kicked some soccer ball with the boys and went for a longer prayer walk.
Lesson of the day
I continue to read Mere Christianity and today I was encouraged to think about this scripture:
And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. Luke 6:31
First I tried to imagine a world that everyone follows this creed. What a wonderful place it will be.
Then I tried to imagine everyone in our church community Overcomers Assembly following this creed. It would be so much joy. It would be difficult to go home after meetings. All sorts of new meetings would be created.
I also thought of a home where this is their creed. Oh what peace. Imagine a husband putting himself in his wives shoes and treating her how he would want to be treated. Imagine the wife do the same for the husband.
Then I asked myself the question. Are you treating everyone in your life the way you want to be treated? If everyone around you should treat you exactly as you are treating them would you be happy? What if they treat you 10 times more of whatever treatment you are giving to them?
Everyone needs to answer these questions for themselves. I don’t think there will be any benefit in telling you my answers to these questions.
Happy Father’s Day to the fathers out there. (tomorrow)
