In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.~ Matthew 6:9 NKJV
God is our Father in Heaven! For a long time, I did not know that this thought about God as a father was difficult for some people to accept.
It is difficult to accept that God is our Father in heaven for people who have earthly fathers who have been absent or mean to them.
Thankfully I have had a father on earth who has been present in my life and involved too.
When I think of God as my heavenly Father, I think of having an all powerful, caring Father who is ready to do all that is required for me to be the best person I was born to be.
God is our Father in heaven! A good father disciplines his children! I am grateful that my dad disciplined me as a child. I did not appreciate discipline when I was younger. In fact, at one point I thought I was adopted and that my parents hated me.
I may not understand all the discipline I get from our Father in heaven however, I know that it is all for my own good.
My dad on earth is not perfect. When I was growing up, I did some foolish things. My dad corrected me in ways that he knew best. Sometimes though, he misunderstood my intentions. God is our Father in heaven! There is no fear of being misunderstood.
God knows why I do what I do. God knows how to help me overcome my present limitations. God is committed to helping me be better every moment.
God is not just the father of Jesus, God is my father too! He was my father when I was a prodigal. He is our Father in heaven.
How I wish everyone would believe and receive the authority to be called children of God.
I am a father to two wonderful boys! I know how much I love them. I know how many times we have changed our life plans to accommodate them! I know how I am willing to sacrifice for their growth and development. I also know that this love I have is nothing compared to the love our Father in heaven has for us and for me.
Our Farther in heaven, hallowed by your name. Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I love you daddy in heaven. I need you always. Thank you for accepting me as your son!
I receive grace today to act in ways that will help others to know what a wonderful father you are.
I pray in Jesus name!
