I survived a stroke – Glory be to God

On Friday 7th April 2017, I had stroke. It led to almost full paralysis of my right hand and legs. By the mercy of God it did not affect more parts of my body.

That Friday was a very difficult day for me. By Saturday morning I could not dress myself up to go to the hospital. I wept. I just could not understand how I could suddenly become so helpless.

After spending  5 days in the hospital, I’m back home. As at today I have recovered about 40% or 50% of motion in my hand and leg. I wrote this page with my left hand. I pray that I will write with my right hand by next week.

I thank God for my wife Olu who did practically everything for me. She still does a lot for me. She was my right hand. I now do some things by myself. I can put on a shirt. I can put on my pant with lots and lots of effort.

I’m also grateful to God for the graceful Dr Nda of Sauki Private Hospital, in Abuja, Nigeria. He was very supportive and helpful. I pray that he and other Drs there would help more people.

I am also thankful for my Church family and believers all over the world who prayed earnestly for me. God heard all our prayers! My parents, uncles and cousins prayed. God bless you all.

Lesson Learnt: Life can end anytime. Make the most of it. Do what you are really called to do now. Don’t wait.
