How do you pray when you have no strength? Or when all you want can be said in one minute? How have I been praying since April 7th?
First I must thank all those that took time to pray for me because I could not pray much in the first couple of days! Not that I did not want to pray, I just did not have the strength!
One gift that has helped at this time is the gift of praying in the spirit or praying in tongues!
“I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all;”~I Corinthians 14:18 NKJV
When I had no idea what was going on, I just prayed in tongues!
For my 6 days stay at the hospital – I gave thanks to God for his mercy, sang some worship songs, listened to worship music but prayed much in the spirit!
These days, I pray for others, the church and my family and I pray much in tongues! I command strength into my limbs, healing to my brain and strength for my mind but I pray much in tongues!
Spend much time praying in tongues privately
When I pray in tongues, I start out just thanking God and speaking words of adoration!
The first couple of minuites are just “normal” conversations! I pray in tongues but my mind is not as focused as it should be!
I still catch myself thinking about my schedule for the day or about a conversation I just had or my blog. So I bring my mind back to my prayers by recalling a scripture or praying in English for a sentence or two! I then continue to pray in tongues!
After about 15-20mins sometimes less sometimes more, l begin to sense some intensity in my prayer and a new degree of focus! I usually stand and walk around and pray out loud at this point.
I try to maintain this level of focus and intensity for 30 -45 mins, then I begin to make prophetic declarations in line with what I believe God wants me to speak about.
I also get ideas during this phase of prayer! Divine strategies and instructions become clearer! Impressions and revelations become clearer!
I encourage everyone to spend at least 30mins praying in tongues daily. Not 2 slots of 15mins each. 30 full minutes at once! It’s very powerful!
That’s it for now! Thanks for reading!
