Jesus let his friend die!!!

“And some of them said, “Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?””‭‭John‬ ‭11:37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is one of the scriptures that the Holy Spirit brought to my attention after I suffered a stroke on the 7/8th of April this year!

I read the story of Lazarus in John 11. I noticed that this question was asked. Could Jesus not have healed Lazarus before he died?

Jesus could have healed him from a distance! He did not even need to go to the home of Lazarus to heal him. But Jesus chose to let Lazarus die so that He could raise Lazarus up and show to generations of believers that Jesus is the Resurrection and life!

God’s plan trumps all other plans! Although it feels tough and it’s challenging I am glad that I’m not going through this alone. I believe I’m in the middle of a divine strategy!

A friend, Andrea just reminded me of that scripture today! And it reminded me that Lazarus was not just any other person! He was a close friend of Jesus! Jesus loved him! That I believe is why Jesus chose him to do that job. We read the story now and we are encouraged. I’m sure it was quite an ordeal for Lazarus until it changed his whole life!

Can you imagine the types of audiences Lazarus had from that time on? Imagine the Favour. What about spiritual impact? Do you think he would have preferred to have been healed just as he began to notice symptoms of illness? Pls let me know your thoughts by commenting below!

You are a blessing.

  1. I believe in God’s time, and His way you too shall be healed, and your faith will increase and His glory also. Glad you are recovering and being filled with His Spirit also. Love you.
