Praying in the Spirit – Day 11

Guess what I was doing at 12:00am this morning. If you said praying, you got it wrong. I was sleeping. Yeah I was tired, I thought I should rest a little and yes I kept on sleeping until 12:30am. Well then I thought, why not wait until 1am and then I can pray. Well 1am became 3.00am. The good news however is that I got up at 3:00am and prayed until 6:00am. It has been the best time so far. I may be considering changing my prayer time to 3:00am. The only problem with this time is the risk of sleeping beyond 3:00am.

I would be at our all night prayers between 12:00am and 6:00am on Saturday so I don’t know what would happen with my prayer challenge. I guess I may have to count that as part of the challenge.

I am learning daily that this work of God can only be done with God’s power. The more I pray, the more I realize that I need more of God. That is why Jesus said, men ought always to pray and not to faint (Luke 18). I agree so much with Jesus. And even as I wrote this, I know that I do not understand in full, how much I need to pray.

Prayer keeps us humble, It gives us confidence, we get insight in the place of prayer, we learn to love in the place of prayer, we see our weaknesses in the place of prayer, we take on God as our strength in the place of prayer. Prayer helps us to place material things where they belong, prayer gives us a clearer picture of eternity, in the place of payer we touch God. Every human being ought to pray always.
