Data is not information, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not understanding, understanding is not wisdom.
– Clifford Stoll
Wisdom is very difficult to define, it’s also difficult to teach but when you find it you can easily recognize it. When you have data, they need to be organized into information. The information also has to be organized into knowledge. Information has to be processed and stored to form knowledge. Knowledge and understanding are close but they are not the same. Knowledge must be compared with previous learning to form understanding. When understanding and knowledge are applied we detect the presence of wisdom! Don’t only get knowledge press on for wisdom.
