Words of wisdom about Goals

Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.

– Pablo Picasso

Not only do we need to make goals, we also need to make plans to achieve our goals. We cannot afford to make just any half-hearthed plans. We must  “fervently” believe in the plans that they will get us to our goal. It is the belief in these plans that enables us to “vigorously” act on our plans and as a result achieve success.

What are your Life Goals? What are the things you want to experience? How do you want to contribute to the world? what kind of a person do you want to be?

What are you plans for achieving these goals? What are your shorter term goals (10yrs, 5yrs and 1year) that will show to you that you are on the path to your Life Goals.

Are your actions today part of your plans? Or are you taking actions that are leading you away from Goals? Everyday I find myself having to ask myself  “how does this action contribute to the goals that you have?” Maybe you need to ask yourself some honest questions. I find that most people say they don’t like how they are but they are not ready to make the necessary changes to bring them to the results they want. Truth is they are kind of satisfied with what they have!

Can we trust our plans to always work? No! Plans don’t always work but you can always fine tune your plans as you proceed. I always encourage my readers to make plans and also believe that God will make things work for them that will fast forward their plans.

Do you have a written list of Life Goals? If not do it today! Keep on seeking Wisdom! It will bring you much more than you invest.

I’d like to read from you! How are you doing with Life Goals?

  1. Goal setting didn’t use to work for me. I tend to forget them after a while. But after I set my vision and then make goals based on it, I find it easier to follow through on my plan.

It’s great that you are reminding me about goal setting. I am intending to review my goals today!

  2. Inspiring article and advice Dems. I’m a firm believer in goals and write everything down. I also think it’s important to review not just our progress and wins, but losses as well. Sometimes we learn more from challenges and detours than we do from our successes. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

    1. Yes Marquita, we can actually learn more from challenges and detours than from our successes! We become wiser when we choose to be more attentive to everything that goes on in our lives and in our hearts. Thanks for dropping by!

  3. Hi Dems,

Oh those Goals are so important in our life! I like to work backwards when I have a goal to achieve. I write it down, then write down all the steps I need to take in order to achieve that goal. I like to also have a time line to it. But I keep in mind it can be flexible. Sometimes Life just happens to take us away from our journey. Or sometimes there is a challenge we encounter and need extra time to work it out.

As long as we stay calm through it all and have no false expectations, we are okay!
