Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
The more I study wisdom, the more I am convinced that true wisdom is the ability to learn and apply knowledge dynamically. Wisdom is more than gathering facts and understanding the facts. It is more of knowing how and when to apply specific facts and when not to. It is wisdom therefore not to trust what you know, but to trust the one who knows what you do not know!
To trust in the Lord with all your heart is to have confidence in the fact that The Lord is wiser than you and is faithful and will give you wise counsel. To Trust in the Lord means that you already know how to hear from the Lord. How can you expect to receive guidance if you cannot perceive the instructions.
The words of wisdom today is not just about Trusting God, its about trusting the guidance of God. Trust that God’s promptings in your heart will lead you to success. To joy and peace and abundance! Trust that, following the path that you know God has set for you will lead you to a desirable end. Ask God for help and believe that help will come. Trust that although you have an idea of how things are, there are other ways that may be better and you can have access to the better way!
Finally, I read from this quote that if you choose to always approach every situation with an open and inquisitive mindset, if you choose not to assume that you know, the chances of learning and getting a better way of dealing with each situation is greatly increased. Don’t trust what you know! Seek to know more… there is always more! Ask God!
