You don’t need much strength to do great things!

I read Judges 6 and 7 again lately and here are some things that I noticed!

When walking with God, its not your strength, talents, wisdom, financial stability that matters. It’s how obedient you are to the call. The angel that appeared to Gideon told him to “Go in this thy might” which was quite little.

When you are attentive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will continue to be led by Him. After Gideon had his encounter with the angel, even after the angel had gone, he continued to hear from God.

Many times we can get too “wise” for God to use us. Many times we need to lay aside all of our strength so that God can show us a better way! He had to send 22,000 + 9,700 = 31,700 soldiers away because they were too many!

Many times God just wants us to obey, then stand and watch Him do what only He can do! Gideon had initial victory with his 300 men by a simple strategy! He divided the group to 3, they blew their trumpets and followed basic instructions that have nothing to do with warfare and they stood and watch God defeat their oppressors!

The gifts, talents, education, finances that GOD gives us are not useless! The entire army of Israel still came out to fight after the initial victory. God is not wasteful, he will use the gifts that He put in your life, however it will be at the right time.

I pray that as children of God we will learn to trust our God to lead us as we seek to set the captives free in the name of Jesus.
